Ok, maybe that's a bit much, but I did have a totally awesome time. Went to Anaheim with
The food we brought wasn't bad, just.... lazy food. It was either "Just add water!" or "fit together like Jenga!". For those not comprehending, I refer to noodles, rice, and sandwiches. Some of Corrine's (that's my friend's sister) friends came by and dropped off some breakfast foods. Total rockage to those guys.
I didn't have a cosplay thinger this year... again. HOWEVER! With much talkage with
While the trip was really cool, I was very dissapointed that they cancelled the Guitar Hero Tournament. That was the super mega thing I was looking forward to that trip. I practiced a lot, and also beat Bark at the Moon on Expert (The middle and the ending are still real killers though!). My friends entered the Halo tournament. I didn't see them personally, but I did hear that they got their asses handed to em. It was 5 on 5 I think, and the ending score was 25 to 11. One of my friends didn't even get a kill! Good thing I didn't enter, I woulda totally walked home, ass in hands.
[SPOILER SPOILER! Well, not really, if you've been around DA and the internet] We saw the Full Metal Alchemist Movie. It had to be one of the coolest things ever, and was neat how the story tied into World War II. The fight between Gluttony and Wrath friggin rocked hard, though I thought that Gluttony's face still looks rather goofy. But man... THERE ARE MOTHA-FUCKIN' SNAKES ON THE ZEPPLIN! Envy makes a bitchin snake. When the movie comes out, I'm totally getting that. The Gate-Baby-zombies were kinda creepy though. I dunno, somethin about soldiers being unknowingly possessed is kinda creepy.
The AMV contest was totally ass-kickin. Finally got to see clips from the movie where the Helghasts are from (The name I can't remember, but I know that it looked fuckin awesome). The video was very dramatic, and I thought that the music and scene cuts were well chosen. But man... there was so much yaoi/shounen-ai this year it wasn't even funny. A little shounen-ai I can handle but, yikes! Apparently, this one anime was all the rage and there was three videos that used screenies from it. From what I gather, it's about a dude that goes to an all guy school, but everyone there's gay. I'll admit, there were some scenes that made me laugh but the rest was like watching two extremely flat chicks make out. Then they had the gay vampire one. And the gay teacher one. I have yet to see any yuri videos BESIDES that Utena one (whose artstyle I don't really like)
Speaking of gay, guess what convention was right next to AX? If you guessed the homo-con (I don't know what it was called), then you're right! It's like I walked into west hollywood, but then decided to go to Anaheim and everyone followed me. I made the observation that anyone that has the gay accent sounds the same, no matter what race. White, Black, Mexican, Asian (excluding FOB from all categories), they all sound about the same. And there's my trivia for the day.
Finally! I bring to you the fun stuff! THE SWAG! In regards to anime, I got season I & II of those who hunt elves. I can't wait to watch this (Oiy... Anime Expo brings out the immature pervy geek in me....), as well as the four volumes of Rune Soldier Louie I got. When I got the four volumes, they came with a free toy kinda deal. I chose that one squirrel from Samurai Champloo. Supaa kickass! Manga wise, I got... nothin. HOWEVER! That does not mean that I came away without any literary material. I did happen to pick up vol. one of the Penny Arcade saga (Tycho and Gabe be praised!). The book is everything I thought it would be and more. I also picked up the Armored Core 3: Silent Line soundtrack book. Although I realized only after that it was the soundtrack book, not the concept art, I'm still happy I got some mechs in my hands. Mmm... I love me some giant robots. Go Ziomatrix! I bought a cool black demon mask that I'll hopefully be hanging on my wall sooner or later. Of course, it came in a box that was locked beneath 12 pounds of tape. Luckily, I got me a knife too. It's one of those that used for pure decoration, with a really beautifully designed handle and sheath. It's gotta mermaid on there that's drawn in that one style that I can't quite remember at this time. The next thing I got was something I've been wanting ever since I saw all those damn fangirls (and fanboys... ew) carrying around those Yaoi paddles. I was like "Dude... we needa even the score here" So I bought myself a Yuri pattle. Ha! Foot's on the other hand now, eh?! The final, mega last thing I bought was something I'm surpised I would even glance the thought of purchasing: a freakin raccoon tail. Now, before you point and stare, allow me to elaborate.
A couple years ago, one of my idiot friends (I do believe I've described him before under the name "Whitey") pulled on the tail of one of my other friends. I was like "Dude. That blows." So this year I was like "Hey! Five bucks! I have that!" So I went ahead and purchased it. However, when I asked her about it, she said that she fixed it. Suddenly, I remembered about a year ago she was like "Yeah, I sewed it back up!" or something around those lines. I'll be damned that I waste 5 bucks, so I decided to keep it. Still not a furry, shut up Ben.
I took some pictures, though I still gotta develop them. Actually, now that I think about it, I see three cameras here all in need of developing. Lol... procrastination. Sorry I'm not like the other millions of con attendees, but I didn't really do any sketches. So.... yah. I'm done here. Gotta unpack, wash my cloths, and work on this art stuff to try and land me a (nonpaying) job.
THE DWARF SAYS "GENDER-NEUTRAL PRONOUNS!"

Hey! Why weren't you over there?!
I'm going to CTcon on Saturday, so beware! >3
